Berhampur Municipal Corporation will secure a loan from Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund for a new shopping complex. This project replaces the demolished Giri Market. The corporation will construct the market itself, retaining ownership. The new complex will be built on two acres and will feature around 290 shopping outlets.
