In a striking law enforcement success, Guwahati police arrested Rupjyoti Das, who was at the helm of a massive vehicle fraud scheme since 2023. Under the guise of a bank manager, Das fraudulently rented more than 150 vehicles throughout Assam, then sold them off to oblivious buyers in other states.
